best recipe for pastry cream? I've tried with flour but the taste isn't what it should be but the texture is right, so what could I use to replace it?

Since the texture is right, maybe it’s not the flour that is changing the taste, but the other ingredients you are using…? Have you tried adding fresh vanilla bean? How much sugar and egg yolks are you using?
